The Long Two

Since the NBA introduced the 3 point line in the 1980 season, players have been incentivized to take shots further away from the basket. The risk of shooting from 23 feet away from the basket seems worth it since you are rewarded an extra point. What about the shots that are just inside the three point line? A so called, "long two". It is our opinion that these shots are not worth the risk of taking, as they are worth the same amount as a closer shot. We hypothesize that the teams that take the least of these long twos will perform better than those who take more.
